Why is the discovery of the prehistoric skull a crucial discovery?

There has been many case to prove that humans comes from ape. By the process of evolution, humans are said to be evolved from apes. However the evolution theory is not that favored in the sights of Christians, who believed that man was created and not evolved. Thus in this battle of Creationism vs evolutionism, the discovery of the prehistoric skull has define the winner.

It was crucial because it substantiate the theory of the early evolution. What the early theory was unable to prove, this discovery prove it all. The State Board of Education in Austin gave preliminary approval by an 11-4 vote to a slate of books opposed by groups that contend the texts contain factual errors about evolution and fail to present known scientific weaknesses of evolutionary theory.
Scientists and educators in favor of the books argued the theory of evolution is the bedrock of modern scientific research. By this discovery, they can futher add on the Charles Darwin’s theory. Refer to http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=35470

MSNBC reports:
“It is a very important finding because it does confirm hominids walked upright on two feet definitely 4.5 million years ago,” paleoanthropologist Sileshi Semaw, of the CRAFT Stone Age Institute at Indiana University in the United States, said in an interview. ... “If you go back in time, around 4.5 million years ago and older, there are only very few sites across Africa where a few jaw, finger and toe bones have been found,” Semaw said. Ardipithecus is believed to be the earliest hominid genus after the chimpanzee split. Hominid fossils dated around 5.5 million years ago have recently been discovered and were assigned to a new species named Ardipithecus kadabba. A. ramidus is slightly younger.

This discovery shaken those who believed in creationism. They are now trying to search for new evidences to argue against the findings. They would probably claim that the bones are from chimapnzees unrelated to humans, or maybe even that the bones have been faked by atheist scientist trying to do away with Christianity and disprove the belief of God.
